OMG how awesome is Friday going to be?
Excited.
“for emma (acoustic)” - bon iver
This made me stop everything that I was doing, close my eyes, and just listen.
Situations today in which I cried:
- Doctor Who, Season 4, The Library, When Donna Noble gets turned into a face-thing.
- Doctor Who, Season 4, The Library, When Donna Noble’s children disappear
- Doctor Who, Season 4, The Library, When Donna Noble is returned to the Doctor
- Doctor Who, Season 4, The Library, When River Song doesn’t die.
- Speed. When the bus runs over the carriage and Annie reacts like she killed a baby
- Speed. When the bus makes it over the gap and everyone’s so happy to be alive
- Speed. When Annie and Jack slide from the bus, immediately before the completely superfluous bus-into-plane explosion
- Speed. When Annie and Jack slide in the derailed subway car and kiss.
Situations in my past in which I didn’t cry:
- Grandad #1’s funeral.
- Grandad #2’s death (For the record, I had to double check to make sure he actually did die. He did.)
- Dog’s death.
- The many times I’ve moved away/moved home.
- All the great grandmas and grandpas and great-aunts.. all those times. Not a tear.
Requiem Mass in D minor - Mozart
My brother told me about this for the first time when I was ten. He saw me looking through his cd collection, and caught me looking at one of his Mozart cd’s. He started telling me a tiny bit about him, but told me about this one song, Mozart’s last. Mozart’s Requiem it’s called.
He said it was “haunting” and it gave him shivers every time he heard it.
Hell, I guess I am related to my family after all, if not just for my oldest brother. It is very chilling.
Extremely intense and interesting. This piece set the mood for my night, I think.
